"we will survive"
Those were the parting words in the narration of Queer As Folk. Tonight was the last episode of the U.S. series. We're sad to see you go, guys. Your brilliance and honesty has helped shaped an entire era of television, and helped pave the future for gay television.
Thank you for everything you've done. Thank you for giving insight into gay people as real human beings, not just airheaded sidekicks on sitcoms. Thank you for inspiring today's gay youth & adults to be strong and be themselves, even in these troubled times. If this show were around when I was growing up, I have no doubt it would have seriously helped me come to terms with being gay.
But now it's happened, and nobody can take that away. Your legacy will live on thanks to DVD's and re-runs, and you will be there to inspire and educate both gay and straight audiences. Your presence will be missed on Sunday nights, but we know that you have left your mark in history, and that can never be changed.
